The tow bar is manufactured from high-quality materials, it has undergone load tests as well as rigorous testing for strength and resistance to corrosion. The tow bar complies with homologation E1 55R-01 2858 and all Czech and international regulations. With this tow bar, a simple automatic mechanism allows the ball hitch to be swivelled out into the working position and then, when it is no longer needed, swivelled back in beneath the bumper. Retrofitting a tow bar to your vehicle increases the demand on its cooling system. As a result, depending on the equipment fitted to the vehicle, the cooling system components will need to be replaced in accordance with the information either held by workshop technicians in authorised Škoda Auto service centres.

This part is not possible to fitt it to hybrid vehicles Octavia iV (PHEV).
Can not be fitted to cars intended for the Russian market.

 

For cars without a tow bar preparation, further parts need to be ordered from Škoda Genuine Parts catalogue: Wiring set 5E3 055 204A + 5E3 055 204B.

For Škoda Octavia IV Combi without a tow bar preparation must be ordered separately from Škoda Genuine Parts catalog:  diffuser (1pcs) 5E6 807 521A (not valid for models Octavia IV RS neither for Octavia IV Scout).
Attention: when replacing the diffuser on cars with a virtual pedal (PR - 4E6) it is necessary to order in addition:
- antenna for virtual pedal 5E3 962 239 for vehicles with PR No. GP0
- antenna for virtual pedal 5E3 962 239A for vehicles with PR No. GP1
- control unit holder 3G0 962 283A

Exclusively for the basic model of left- or right-hand drive Škoda Octavia IV vehicles. Cannot be retrofitted on Octavia NX, PV with PR NI1 or NI7 or NI8 and NI9.
Restrictions
Not suitable for: Octavia iV and Octavia RS iV / hybrid; Octavia G-TEC (CNG); Octavia Sport packet / Sportline; cars exported to Australia.

Due to the complex nature of the work required, as well as the subsequent activation of the tow bar, fitting must only be carried out by an authorised Škoda Auto service partner.

Notice

Cannot be retrofitted on 1.5 TSI 110kW cars without preparation for tow bar:

  • Combi produced from CW 05/2020 until the end of CW 43/2020 and from CW 48/2020 until the end of CW 11/2021.
  • Limo produced from CW 10/2020 until end of CW 43/2020 and from CW 48/2020 until the end of CW 11/2021.

For vehicles without tow bar preparation:

  • 1.0 TSI/81 kW and 1.0 TSI/81 kW mHEV
  • 1,5 TSI produced from CW 44/2020 until the end of CW 47/2020 and from CW 12/2021 applies further
  • removing the aerodynamic exhaust cover on the underbody of the car is necessary per the service manual!


If the specified procedure is not followed, there is a risk of damaging the fuel tank!
