The tow bar is another of the practical extras from the Škoda Genuine Accessories range that increase the utility of the vehicle.
Manufactured from high-quality materials, it has undergone rigorous testing for strength and resistance to corrosion, as well as load tests. The tow bar complies with homologation E8 55R-01/07 55879 and all Czech and international regulations.
Thanks to the simple, automatic mechanism for fitting and removing the ball hitch, no tools are needed – meaning that it is much simpler to meet the legal requirements for removing the ball hitch when the trailer is uncoupled.
When you are driving abroad, the country-specific legal regulations must be followed at all times if you have not attached a trailer to the tow bar fitted to your car.
Retrofitting the tow bar places increased demands on the car’s cooling system.
That‘s why it‘s necessary to have certain parts of the cooling system replaced by the Škoda Auto, using the information provided by the Škoda service technician.
This component is compatible with the electronic system in vehicles manufactured in Russia (Nizhny Novgorod).
This tow bar set is dedicated for the basic models Škoda Octavia and Octavia IV (NX, PV), with either left or righthand drive, with and without tow bar preparation.
The electrical installation kit for vehicles (Octavia IV) with UN.ECE manufactured from CW 48/2025 is not included in the tow bar kit and must be ordered separately:
- for vehicles with preparation 5E3055202D
- control unit 5E3055713
- for vehicles without preparation 5E3055202D + 5E3055204E
For vehicles manufactured from CW 28/2025 to CW 47/2025 installation of this device is not yet possible.
The electrical installation kit for vehicles (Octavia PV) with UN.ECE manufactured from CW 14/2024 to CW 27/2025 is not included in the tow bar kit and must be ordered separately:
- for vehicles with preparation 5E3055202C (includes control unit 5H2907383D).
- for vehicles without preparation 5E3055202C + 5E3055204E
The electrical installation kit for vehicles (Octavia IV) without UN.ECE manufactured before CW 13/2024 is not included in the tow bar kit and must be ordered according to the equipment:
- for vehicles with preparation 5E3055202B (includes control unit 5H0907383C).
- for vehicles without preparation 5E3055202B + 5E3055204E
For Octavia Combi and Octavia Combi IV, both without preparation for a tow bar, it is necessary to order (does not apply to Octavia Scout IV ):
- diffuser 5E6 807 521A 9B9 (for NX5 vehicles)
- diffuser 5E6 807 521E 9B9 (for PV5 vehicles)
Attention: when replacing the difusor on vehicles with a virtual pedal (4E6), it is necessary to order separately:
- antenna for a virtual pedal 5E3962239 (for Octavia NX5)
- antenna for a virtual pedal 5E3962239A (for Octavia PV5, manufactured till the end of CW 27/2025)
- control unit holder for antenna 3G0962283A (For vehicles manufactured till the end of CW 27/2025. For assembly, proceed according to the workshop manual).
Tow bar does not contain the bag 8V0012007, need to be ordered separately (if need it).
For vehicles exported to Australia, the following must be ordered separately:
Information label for tow bars Australia - 5E3092190A (for vehicles from CW 36/2024 to CW 47/2025)
Information label for tow bar Australia - 5E3092190D (for vehicles from CW 48/2025)
Caution for hybrid engines - Octavia IV (PHEV):
Due to the specific engineering features of vehicles equipped with highvoltage batteries, we recommend you only use genuine Škoda tow bars, because Škoda Auto a.s. can guarantee their safety, reliability and compatibility with these vehicles.
Wrongly installed or incorrect tow bars can, in the event of an accident, damage the high-voltage components of the vehicles, worsening the consequences of the accident or even causing fatal injury. We recommend having all the installation work done by Škoda authorized service partners.
Not suitable for:
- Octavia G-TEC (CNG),
- Octavia RS and Octavia RS iV,
- Octavia Scout produced until CW 12/2021
- Cannot be retrofitted on vehicles with mHEV motorization without preparation for towbar.
For hybrid vehicles Octavia IV (PHEV):
- until the end of CW 43/2020 is possible to fit to vehicles with or without tow bar preparation
- from CW 44/2020 until the end of CW 35/2022 is possible to fit it only to vehicles with tow bar preparation
- from CW 36/2022 is possible to fit it to vehicles with or without tow bar preparation
- until the end of CW 43/2020 is possible to fit it to vehicles with raised chassis (G12) with or without tow bar preparation
- from CW 44/2020 until the end of CW 35/2022 is possible to fit it to vehicles with tow bar preparation
- from CW 36/2022 is possible to fit it to vehicles with raised chassis (G12) with or without tow bar preparation
Cannot be retrofitted on 1.5 TSI 110kW vehicles without preparation for tow bar:
- Combi produced from CW 05/2020 until the end of CW 43/2020 and from CW 48/2020 until the end of CW 11/2021.
- Limo produced from CW 10/2020 until end of CW 43/2020 and from CW 48/2020 until the end of CW 11/2021.
Can only be fitted into vehicles without tow bar preparation with motorization:
- 1.0 TSI/81 kW
- 1,5 TSI produced from CW 44/2020 until the end of CW 47/2020 and from CW 12/2021 applies further, can only be installed provided with simultaneously removing the aerodynamic exhaust cover on the underbody of the vehicle is necessary per the service manual.
If the specified procedure is not followed, there is arisk of damaging the fuel tank!
